Vision 20/20: Growing Churches

Elim has identified its four missional priorities as a Movement, one of which is growing churches. We are one united church working together to leverage our shared story, maximising our ability to plant new and reproductive churches, and the gospel of Jesus Christ with all people from all nations. Chris Cartwright explains more.

Pioneering and growing healthy churches is part of our spiritual DNA. We're committed to seeing life-giving churches in every community town and city across the nation.

Church is God's idea. Someone said the local church is the hope of the world and he's planned that when we come together united in love, caring for and serving one another, that others would be attracted into his presence. But Church doesn't just exist for us.

God has planned it that his church would spill out into every part of community and every strata of life. And he's promised to give us compassion for others. He wants to see his church alive in community, reaching out to people as well as drawing them in.

I believe God wants existing churches to flourish and grow, but we also need new churches. Every generation needs that pioneering spirit.

At the Elim Leaders Summit 2017, Chris Cartwright, Elim's General Superintendent shared more about the mission of Elim:

We are going to be a movement, I believe the priority is going to be, continually planting and growing healthy, vibrant life-giving churches, that are a blessing to their communities and are living for him and not just for themselves. Places where and people where the Kingdom comes.

God has given his Spirit that we might be empowered to reach out in new ways to a new generation, in a changing and rapidly accelerating culture. It's so important that we pray for a fresh move of God and for Spirit-empowered churches.

What are Elim’s big plans for 2019?
