Elim statement regarding the ongoing safeguarding investigation into Mike Pilavachi

Many people have been significantly impacted by the ministry of Soul Survivor and Mike Pilavachi. As such, we understand that a time like this will be profoundly disorientating and painful for many.

Our thoughts, prayers and concerns are with all those left reeling in the wake of such an investigation. First, for those who are directly impacted, not least those who have bravely come forward to share their experiences, and for the team and church community at Soul Survivor, for whom this must be an extremely distressing period of time.

We also have compassion with those whose lives have been significantly impacted by the ministry of Soul Survivor, many of whom will feel a deep sense of sadness and confusion.

If this has raised such concerns for you which are outside of the specific remit of this investigation, you can speak to thirtyone:eight on 0303 003 1111, or the Safe Spaces helpline on 0300 303 1056.

If you have specific safeguarding concerns relating to this situation, you can make contact the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Team via safeguarding@churchofengland.org.
