Why Elim is putting its Malvern site on the market

A statement from the Trustees on the road ahead

Elim's Trustees have decided to put the Elim International Centre in Malvern on the market. This 30+ acre site, which includes private woodland and countryside grounds, has been home to the Elim International Office, Regents Theological College, and the Elim Conference Centre since 2009.

It is a significant step, and one that follows months of review and prayer, so here is what it means, and just as importantly, what it doesn't.

A site with a lot going on

Tucked into the Malvern Hills, the Elim International Centre is where Elim's national and international administrative and ministry work happens day to day, where Regents trains students including the next generation of ministers and leaders, and where churches and groups from across the UK and Ireland come for conferences and events. The Elim Arts Centre and Sugarloaf Café are part of the same site which are well used by staff, students, guests and Malvern neighbours too.

Why now

The decision comes down to good stewardship. The Trustees want to understand what the site is worth in today's market and seeing what interest it attracts. That information will shape whatever comes next, but it is currently a fact-finding step first and foremost, not a conclusion.

What hasn't been decided

No decision has been made about where Elim goes from here. The Trustees are exploring options for future premises alongside the marketing process, but nothing will be settled until they have weighed up all the practical, financial and mission-related considerations, all done with proper due diligence along the way.

Business as usual

For anyone who relies on the site, our staff, students, ministers, conference guests, and the wider community, nothing changes for now. Regents continues to teach, the office continues to run, the conference centre continues to host, and the café stays open. This process will take time, and Elim intends to keep serving people fully throughout it.
