Marty Davidson
International Missions Director
I love God and feel really privileged to be able to encourage others to be all that they can be through Jesus. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had an interest and fascination for people, people groups and their stories. I can’t remember what sparked my interested in Missions, but I think God just immersed me in Missions from an early age. I recall a Sunday school teacher telling stories about their adventures in Afghanistan, reading Hudson Taylor’s ordeals in China and Granny Jean and her stories of smuggling bibles behind the iron curtain.
I’ve served short term in the Middle East, Africa and Brazil before leaving dentistry in N.Ireland to serve for 14 years in Maues in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest as Elim Missionaries with the family.
I’m married to Rebeca, a third generation Pastor from the Brazilian state of São Paulo and have two children Daniel and Elizabeth.
Before coming into the role of IMD, I had the wonderful pleasure to serve alongside Rebeca for 8 years as Lead Pastors of the Gateway Elim Church in Yate, whilst most recently serving as Elim’s representative for Central and South America and serving on the Global Advisory Board.
