Be Free is the Elim Missions’ stand against human exploitation. This is defined as the illegal exploitation of humans in order to force them to engage in commercial sex, labour or other activities against their will. It relies on deception, force and coercion, and degrades humans by depriving them of their freedom while economically or materially benefiting others. These practises are often referred to as ‘modern day slavery’. Today it is estimated that 40 million people are enslaved. The Be Free Campaign currently supports projects in Cambodia, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Indonesia.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (The Bible)
