Macedonia Update December 2024
Hi everyone, here is our latest update from Macedonia.
Answers to prayer:
For over a year now, we have been praying daily around our community. This was in response to a prompting to increase the level of prayer for the neighbourhood. Over the course of the year, the walk has increased in length and the activity itself has been an evangelism opportunity as there have been many occasions when we have been able to tell people we are praying for them and ask if they would like prayer.
We have also seen some amazing answers to prayer:
-
We now have an extra Community Bible Study group and for the first time it has been hosted in someone else’s home.
-
Our children’s group hasn’t grown in number as much as we had hoped, but we have learned a lot about how best to minister to the children that do attend and help them to grow and those that do attend really seem to be engaged in the sessions.
-
In August we asked for prayer for the alcohol issues in our community – one of the group has given up drinking!
-
We have had many opportunities to share the gospel and serve members of the community.
-
We have seen people grow in their faith and discipleship. We don’t think it’s appropriate to share details but it has been a privilege to witness people walking ever closer with Jesus.
When we began the prayer walks we knew it would be a long term commitment. Even after a year there are still things we need to continue to pray for and areas of breakthrough that we still have not yet seen. But we press on!
What Else!
During this winter season we have been able to host prayer meetings in our home, provide pastoral support for church members and continue with the Capernaum ministry. While the outdoor missional activity reduces there are still plenty of opportunities to connect with people.
New Car
Thank you to everyone who prayed for and gave towards our new car. Buying a car here is a very different prospect to doing so in the UK, and it was quite a challenging task to find a suitable 7-seat vehicle. However, God has provided and we are looking forward to using this vehicle for serving him.
Thanks!
We are thankful to all who support us in prayer. Recently we have been privileged to hear multiple accounts of how those who read this newsletter, or are aware of our work, are praying for us. It really does make a difference. Thank you so much. Some of you may not know us personally (or will never come and see what is going on here) but we are all the body of Christ, which means all of us get to share in the good things that are happening.
‘Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body…’ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
The work God is doing in Macedonia is not about the Moore family, it is about Jesus and what he wants to do!
Prayer:
-
Please give thanks for all that God has done!
-
Please give thanks for the provision of our new car.
-
Please pray for our Bible study groups, for growth numerically and spiritually.
-
We are now in the smog season once more where the air quality drops significantly. Please pray for health and protection during this time.
-
Please pray for more people to come into a saving relationship with Jesus.
Thank you so much for reading our news, please do let us know how things are going where you are.
Ian, Katie, Kristen and Josiah.
