Matt and Ellie have been married for four years and share a deep passion for helping children encounter the love of God. Matt is a dedicated primary school teacher, having taught children across Early Years, Key Stage 1 & 2, while Ellie has acted as Head of Children's Ministry at Birmingham City Church (BCC) since 2016. 

They both also share a passion for mission. Matt visited Malawi in 2015 along with his local church, while Ellie’s heart for missions began in the same year when she visited the Philippines with Elim Missions. Years later, that spark was reignited when she and Matt returned to the Philippines together in February 2025 as part of a BCC team. During this visit, they felt a powerful and prayerful connection to the island of Coron, where they encountered the life-changing work of City Gates School and Church.

The ministry in Coron is having a remarkable impact—strengthening families, reaching the community, and drawing children and families closer to God. Matt and Ellie are deeply moved by this mission and feel called to be a part of what God is doing there. 

Their vision for their time in Coron is to support the wonderful work already being done by the team and to be able to provide more opportunities for children and families to hear the Word of God, through education, sport and creativity.
